Tuesday

After a great breakfast we headed out with our guide Martin for a trip through the wineries. By 10am we were enjoying our first taste of SA wine in Paarl. Two wineries later I had learned a lot about the process of winemaking. Believe it or not they don't use feet anymore. We enjoyed a nice ride through the countryside and stopped for lunch in the town of Franschhoek. This is a gourmet restaurant which put the town on the map.
Winery#2 was Vrede en Lust. The boys liked this one because the wine is served by attractive young women in red dresses. And the wine was good.
From there we headed to Stellenbosch which is a university town. It looks like a Dutch village. The last winery Rustenberg was the high end of wineries. A beautiful setting and very expensive wine.

En route we managed to see some roadside zebras-not kidding they are on the side of the road - and an ostrich family, mom dad and 8 chicks.

Our guide is fantastic- extremely knowledgeable and also our DD. Tomorrow we are off to the Cape of Good Hope.
